Choi Yuna more popularly known as Yuju is now a soloist from Konnect Entertainment. Before she became a soloist, she was first a member of the girl group called GFRIEND formed by Source Music. She was the main vocal of the group. Yuju made her debut on January 15, 2015. Her group made their debut with the song Glass Bead. She was a member of GFRIEND from 2015 until 2021. GFRIEND is known for its songs Glass Bead, Rough, Me Gustas Tu, and more. GFRIEND’s agency Source Music was a small company when they started. The group doesn’t have much presence at first. But because of the viral video of the girls (especially Yuju who fell several times due to slippery stage) passionately working despite working conditions, GFRIEND and their songs became known to the public. While the public was getting to know them, many opportunities came. The girls got the chance to show more of them and GFRIEND became one of the top girl groups of their generation. Yuju was also given the chance to showcase her different talents. She excelled in singing and variety programs. She even lent her voice to different dramas. The most iconic OST from Yuju will be the Spring Is Gone by Chance with Loco for the drama The Girl Who Sees Smells. On May 22, 2021, Yuju’s former agency Source Music abruptly announced that the group is officially disbanding and the members’ contracts have ended as well. After several months, Yuju finally found a new home. In September 2021, it was officially announced that Yuju will now become part of Konnect Entertainment. In January 2022, Yuju made her official solo debut. She released her first album titled Rec with the title track Play.
